Sabine Baring-Gould
The following was submitted by Ricardo Mendez:
- Sabine Baring-Gould was a 19th century scholar that among other things liked to documente myths and folklore. Since he traveled around Europe collecting information, he may be an useful NPC for those keepers running campaigns during that period. Those interested can find a biography (that doesn't mention his books on vampires, werewolves and ghosts) at http://www.beckysmith.demon.co.uk/sbaring-gould.html.
I first ran into him when I found his tome "The Book of Werewolves", originally published in 1836. Quite an interesintg read that correlates and dissects werewolves myths from around the world and one which I recommend for Keepers everywhere. Most likely you'll only be able to find an used copy (mine is from 1976).

- I agree with Ricardo, a great reference and a rare find in a store's occult section glutted with books about alien abductions and vampires. For those of you intrested in adding it to your library, it can be found with Mr. Sabine-Gould's other books at Amazon.com.
